Broccoli stems, ripe bananas, hardened bread, wilted herbs – give a second chance to foods that have lost their appeal by freezing them. Prepare soups and slow-cooked meals in large quantities and freeze them in advance, where they can be helpfully used later as a quick dinner option when needed. To make your life easier, freeze your recipes in the portion sizes that you’ll want to use later.
Avoid buying jars or cans that can only be used once. For example, if you already have sriracha sauce at home, you can use it in all of the recipes that require harissa and sambal oelek. Try using the spices you already have at home before going out to buy new ones.
