SOSCuisine: Smart Vegetarian Meal Plans

How to improve the variety of your foods?

Here are some tips to increase your food variety:

  • Replace oatmeal (made with oats only) with oatmeal made with other cereals (rolled oats, quinoa and buckwheat flakes, for example).
  • Alternate the type of grain products served with meals (rice, quinoa, couscous, wild rice, barley, spelt, freeked, etc.)
  • Add spices and herbs to your recipes
  • Try a new food every week. It can be as simple as trying a new apple variety!
  • Vary your snacks (a combination of different nuts and seeds every week)
  • Add (at least) one vegetarian meal to your week
  • Add more vegetables to your traditional meals (bolognese sauce with mushrooms, shepherd’s pie with carrots, peas, and onions, etc.)

I have just joined! Great idea. Really needed some good guidance on healthy eating and found some great ideas. I love the way I can store them in my own collection.
