Fiber

Fiber is the part of plant-derived foods that our body cannot digest or absorb. In general, fiber is important for our health because it provides a protective effect against cardiovascular disease and colon cancer. It promotes satiety, weight and blood sugar control as well as good gastrointestinal health. It is recommended to consume a minimum of 20 to 30 grams of fiber per day. Soluble fiber specifically helps to lower blood cholesterol and improves stool consistency, thereby preventing constipation and diarrhea.

Omega-3

Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids are considered essential for a health because the body cannot produce them by itself. It is, therefore, important to consume omega-3s daily, because they are beneficial to the proper functioning of the body. Among other things, they help reduce inflammation and prevent cardiovascular disease. The daily requirement of omega-3 is 1100mg for women and 1600mg for men.
