Are you thinking “why do I have to make sure the kids eat bacteria? Can’t I just make sure that they eat fruits and vegetables???” I hear you. Being bombarded with information about everything that we should be doing for our kids can be overwhelming. The good news is that normal, healthy people don’t have to worry about probiotics. However, if you or your kids have digestive issues (like diarrhea or gas), ask your doctor or dietitian about probiotics. Another reason to take probiotics is during or after taking antibiotics. Antibiotics are great for killing the bad bacteria which cause infections, but they kill off the good bacteria as well. Probiotics are great for restoring that bacteria balance in your body.
