Here is the testimonial of Nicoletta, a very satisfied customer of our online dietitian service. Nicoletta lives in Italy in Vittorio Veneto (Treviso).
For years, I have been suffering from belly bloating. In 2018, my doctor diagnosed me with an irritable bowel. At the time, the diosmectite (aluminum magnesium silicate) he prescribed to me helped reduce my symptoms, but since I didn’t treat the cause of my bloating, it continued to torment me.
Subsequently, my pharmacist advised me to take probiotics. Again, at the time, I got some benefits out of them, but when I stopped taking them, the problem came back. I now know that it is not enough to only treat the symptoms, that you instead have to modify your diet to increase the good bacteria in your microbiota and reduce/eliminate the problematic ones.
Over the years, I continued to educate myself by looking for a solution to my problem and that’s how I discovered the FODMAP diet. To learn more, I bought the book “The Low-FODMAP Solution” written by Cinzia Cuneo and SOSCuisine. In addition, I began to follow the meal plans and recipes in the book, but unfortunately I did not have immediate results. In fact, my gut reacts very slowly to changes.
However, reading the book convinced me to explore the SOSCuisine website and thanks to the messages exchanged on the blog and with the customer service team, and their quick, accurate and informative answers, I decided to use the VIP Dietitian service to get the help of an expert.
I am really very satisfied. Dr. Giordano is very knowledgeable, very helpful and kind, able to establish an authentic relationship, and ready to answer all my questions. She helps me calibrate the meal plans according to my own needs. She is now following me in the reintroduction phase.
As for the recipes, I made nice discoveries, which I adapted and simplified in my own way. It must be said that I love to cook and that I always make sure to use varied and quality ingredients, so the presence of quinoa and millet in the meal plans for example (to replace wheat that is excluded from the FODMAP diet) did not surprise me.
Some ingredients, however, are very exotic, like dragon fruit (pitaya), but I understand that they are included in the meal plans as alternatives, as there are not many low-FODMAP fruits.
In the meantime, my belly is slowly deflating, and I am confident that I will be able to find a permanent solution to my problem. After so many years of dealing with this problem alone, it was a smart decision for me to reach out and ask for the help of these experts.

It was amazing for me to read your story today by Nicoletta. In recent months, I too have been experiencing belly bloating and discomfort. After briefly speaking with my family doctor yesterday, he suggested that I study the list of low FODMAP foods which he copied me with to see if it helps me. I will be switching my menu plan to low FODMAP asap.
Hi Laura,
Hopefully the low FODMAP diet will help. Please pay attention also to your stress level.
