Thai basil is a wonderfully spicy and aromatic herb that pairs well with similarly bold flavours, like ginger and garlic. It’s a staple of Thai cuisine. This dish might not be traditionally Thai, but it is definitely channelling Thai flavours.
Teriyaki is one of those sauces that goes well with absolutely everything. It’s sweet, salty, and just a bit tart for a perfect marriage of flavours. Salmon goes very well with sweet, sticky sauce because of its somewhat sweet, fishy flavour and teriyaki seems like the perfect match!
Like we said, we are focusing more on Eastern Asian dishes, but Asia is a pretty big place. It also includes part of the Middle East and Russia. Kafta is a spiced meat blend that can be enjoyed on its own, in wraps, or sandwiches. You can serve it with pita, tomatoes, tzatziki, hummus, or tabbouleh to keep with the Middle Eastern theme.
