Scientific evidence has accumulated over the past fifty years on the benefits of a Mediterranean diet in preventing cardiovascular diseases, but also other diseases such as diabetes, cancer, dementia and even depression. In addition, all our menus are based on this nutritional regime. Greek cuisine also respects the principles of this diet. We suggest you try these 5 Greek recipes that are not only good for you, but also very tasty.
#5 – Veal Moussaka
Veal Moussaka
In its basic form, «moussaka» [pr. MOO-sah-kah] consists of sliced eggplant and ground lamb or beef that are layered, covered with a béchamel sauce enriched with eggs and/or cheese, then baked. It is a popular dish in Greece. Try our versions with lamb, beef and chicken.
This gourmet recipe is perfect for entertaining. The slow-cooked lamb and potatoes, stewed in the pan juices with thyme and lemon, make for an excellent dish.
