«Yakitori» is the name of these chicken skewers in Japan. I have adapted the original marinade recipe by replacing «sake» and «mirin» (both are alcoholic beverages made from rice) with white wine.

Partner loved this - spicy and tasty was the verdict. I used the same marinade with steamed tempeh cubes for me as I don’t eat chicken and also really enjoyed the flavours. I cooked the skewers under our oven grill (broiler) and was pleasantly surprised at how well they turned out - juicy but well browned - and would definitely use this method again.
Nice spice taste. The guys all liked it. Marinated it for 2 hrs. I think next time overnight and really enhance the flavour.
Tasty. We had it with rice and edamame.
